The government, in line with the macro-eoconomic policy of the Central
Government of the Netherlands Antilles, has recognized importance of well
balanced private sector development. In particular, the role of micro
and small enterprises is being promoted through The Small Enterprise
Stimulation Program (SESNA). SESNA is a comprehensive program seeking
to assist in establishing micro/small business support units over a five
year period.
In addition, the Small Enterprsie Foundation (SEF) has recently
been set up by the Statia Small Business Promotion Fund to assist in the
formation and growth of small businesses on the island. For more information
