Oasis Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort - Golden Opportunity Graduation celebrated

The Public Entity St. Eustatius, the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment, the New Challenges Foundation and the Oasis Golden Rock Dive & Nature Resort celebrated the Golden Opportunity graduation on Thursday, May 13th 2021. Twenty candidates successfully completed the program for the hospitality sector.

The twenty persons are now prepared to work in different functions in the new high-end resort that will soon be opened. The sectors that were included in this program are: hotel receptionist & Opera PMS Hotel Software, bartender & barista, cocktail & menu creation, professional cleaning, laundry & housekeeping and social skills.

Proud

Proud parents, family and friends witnessed the celebration of their loved one’s achievement. The theme was “Who you are tomorrow begins with what you do today”. The graduates and their families heard from various speakers including Carol Jack-Roosberg, the Director of Social Domain who focused on building a better Statia together. Yavonro Maynard, Oasis Executive Assistant, emphasized on the future and the importance of keeping high confidence and motivation levels. Almayra Brown and Wariinga Berkel shared their experience with the training program.

Gratitude

Policy Advisor Gregory Melfor expressed his gratitude to those who have contributed in making this program a success and who have made a significant difference in the lives of the graduates. Deputy Government Commissioner Alida Francis mentioned the impact this program has made and will make in the lives of the graduates and also it’s positive effect on the community of Statia.

During the ceremony each graduate was recognized for their outstanding performance on their individual study programs.
