Language
English is the language which is most commonly spoken on Statia. During the last 400 years St. Eustatius changed hands no less than 22 times.
Dutch, British and French were the main conquerors. English has, however, remained the dominant language. Statians also often speak Dutch as it is taught in school as a second language and many speak Spanish and Papiamento.
