Medical referrals to Colombia possible
The Colombian Ministry of Health has announced the conditions that will allow access for patients from abroad who need medical care in Colombia.
The following conditions apply to Covid and non-Covid patients who are medical emergencies.
These patients must be transported on air ambulances or medical charter flights, which can exempt them from corona testing and vaccinations. It is mandatory for the attending physician to send a medical statement with the patient to Colombia.
For non-emergency/elective care, patients must be fully vaccinated, or they must have 1 vaccination together with a negative corona test to be admitted to Colombia. Vaccinations must be older than 14 days.
All patients must meet the conditions stipulated by the Colombian government. ZJCN and the hospitals of the Caribbean Netherlands are aware of these conditions. They remain in constant contact with the hospitals in Colombia to monitor the availability of beds.

Het Colombiaanse ministerie van Volksgezondheid heeft bekend gemaakt wat de voorwaarden zijn die de toegang mogelijk maakt voor patiënten uit het buitenland die medische hulp nodig hebben in Colombia.
De volgende voorwaarden gelden voor Covid- en niet-Covid-patiënten die medische spoedgevallen zijn. Deze patiënten moeten met air-ambulances of medische chartervluchten vervoerd worden, waardoor ze kunnen worden vrijgesteld van corona tests en vaccinaties. In deze spoedgevallen is het verplicht een medische verklaring te hebben van de behandelend arts die de patiënt naar Colombia stuurt.
Voor uitstelbare (electieve) zorg moeten patiënten volledig gevaccineerd zijn, of zij moeten 1 vaccinatie met een negatieve corona test hebben. De vaccinaties moeten ouder dan 14 dagen zijn.
Alle patiënten moeten voldoen aan de voorwaarden die door de Colombiaanse regering zijn vastgesteld. ZJCN en de ziekenhuizen van Caribisch Nederland zijn op de hoogte van deze voorwaarden. Zij blijven voortdurend in contact met de ziekenhuizen in Colombia om beschikbaarheid van bedden te toetsen.
