The delegation comprised Crisis Manager André Bennett, Unit Manager of Internal Services Ina Deuring and Quartermaster Rinaldo Hassel.
The two-day convention followed an earlier session hosted on Statia in April 2026. Discussions covered common cyber threats, including hacking, phishing, malware and ransomware, as well as practical measures to protect computers, mobile phones, networks and personal information.
Participants also received guidance on recognising suspicious emails, links and other online security risks.
With support from the Dutch Ministry of the Interior and Kingdom Relations (BZK), Statia Government continues to build cybersecurity knowledge and capacity within government and across the Caribbean Netherlands.
Statia is scheduled to host the next BQ Cybersecurity Convention during the first quarter of 2027.
