The survey was carried out by The Shipwreck Survey team, in collaboration with local underwater heritage specialists Taro Merkman, Fi de Wit, and Courtney van Rij. Local dive operator ScubAqua provided operational support.
The work focused on identifying potential underwater cultural heritage and assessing seabed conditions relevant to archaeological preservation. Survey activities were carried out in accordance with recognised safety and professional standards, while ensuring minimal disruption to normal harbour operations.
The findings will be compiled into an official advisory report from an underwater heritage perspective. This advice will be submitted to the Executive Council and will inform the next steps, including communication with the community and decision-making related to the planned harbour expansion.
