During his visit, maintenance work was carried out on existing weather monitoring equipment at several locations, including F.D. Roosevelt Airport, White Hook and Oranjestad.
In addition, a new weather monitoring system was installed at the EOC (Emergency Operations Centre). This system measures wind speed and direction, rainfall, temperature, light levels, and humidity. This will improve the monitoring of local weather conditions.
The Statia Government would like to thank the Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute for their co-operation and flexibility in installing the equipment. We also appreciate their continued support and look forward to further strengthening our collaboration.
