ID Card
An ID card is an official identification document that proves your identity and residency in Sint Eustatius. It is only issued to registered residents of Sint Eustatius.
According to the Identification Obligation Act BES, all individuals aged 12 and above must possess a valid identification document at all times.
First-Time Applicants
Eligibility:
- You can apply for your first ID card starting at age 12.
- You must be a registered resident of Sint Eustatius.
What to Bring:
- Valid passport – Required for all first-time applicants as proof of identity.
- Residency permit – Required only for residency permit holders, along with all necessary, up-to-date IND documentation
Validity:
- ID cards are valid for 5 years for both minors and adults
- Permit holders, the validity matches the length of your residency permit
Fees:
- Minors (Under 18 years): $9
- Adults (18+): $15
ID Card Renewal
If your ID card is expired or about to expire, you must renew it at the Census Office.
What to Bring:
- Old ID card
- Residency permit – Required only for residency permit holders, along with all necessary, up-to-date IND documentation

- Adults (18+): $15
Replacing a Lost or Stolen ID Card
If your ID card is lost or stolen, visit the Census Office to apply for a replacement.
What to do if your ID card is stolen:
You are advised to report the theft to the Police Department for record-keeping and security purposes.
What to bring for a replacement:
- A valid passport or another form of identification
- Residency permit – Required only for residency permit holders, along with all necessary, up-to-date IND documentation
