Project Leader Infrastructure & Erosion Control Measures

We are seeking a temporary Project Leader Infrastructure & Erosion Control Measures to join the Programme & Project Management Office (PPMO). The projects under this role are delivered in close cooperation between the Public Entity and various ministries. As Project Leader, you act as a central coordinating figure, maintaining oversight and ensuring that all necessary activities are undertaken to drive and monitor progress.
You will be involved from the early stages of the projects, with a strong focus on execution, ensuring that infrastructure and erosion control projects are delivered in accordance with agreed quality standards, timelines and objectives.

You will locally prepare and coordinate civil engineering projects in the field of infrastructure and erosion control. You ensure that project activities are carried out in line with planning and quality requirements, while maintaining clear communication with key stakeholders. You support and guide decision-making processes and actively manage the local environment in which projects are implemented. In addition, you safeguard coherence between interrelated projects and stakeholders and contribute to effective knowledge transfer.
Additionally, your tasks include:
- Maintaining regular contact with, and reporting to, the Programme Manager.
- Managing local stakeholder and environmental relations related to project implementation.
- Preparing and facilitating decision-making trajectories.
- Monitoring and promoting coherence between connected projects and involved stakeholders.
- Contributing to knowledge sharing and transfer within the organisation and project teams.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
The selected candidate may receive:
- Temporary employment for a trial period of one year, with the prospect of permanent employment.
- Salary: Scale 12, gross monthly between $5,500.99 – $6,884.96 (36-hour workweek).
- Working hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week.
- Allowances: Holiday allowance of 8.33% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% of the annual salary.
- 168 holiday hours per year pro rata based of a 36-hour working week.

Additional requirements
An assessment, case, and/or reference check may be part of the procedure. The selected candidate must provide a certificate of good conduct (VOG) and undergo medical evaluation for inclusion in the pension fund.
The following order of preference will be applied during the selection process:
- Employees of the Public Entity Sint Eustatius (internal)
- Residents from or currently living on Sint Eustatius
- Residents of the Caribbean part of the Netherlands
- All other candidates
A preference will be given to candidates who are locally based.
Functievereisten
- Higher professional education (HBO) level, preferably in Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering or Spatial Planning.
- Demonstrable experience in the realisation of ground, road and hydraulic engineering (GWW) projects.
- Proven experience working on projects within a politically and administratively complex environment.
