Reinstatement of the Monuments Council of St. Eustatius
The Statia Government is looking for committed persons who are interested in protecting and preserving the island’s heritage. The Monuments Council plays an important role in advising on matters related to monuments and archaeological sites. If you have an interest in history, culture, or spatial development, you are encouraged to apply.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Advise the Executive Council on monument designation and protection
- Review and provide input on plans affecting monuments and archaeological sites
- Support the preservation and responsible management of heritage assets
- Contribute to discussions on restoration and maintenance of monuments
- Ensure a balance between development and heritage protection
- Attend and actively participate in Council meetings
Employment Conditions
- Appointment for a period of four (4) years
- Possibility of reappointment
- Compensation in line with the Island Decree on the Monuments Council
- Meetings held as required
Required Skills and Competencies
- Interest in cultural heritage, history, or spatial planning
- Ability to assess information and provide clear advice
- Independent and impartial attitude
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Reliable and able to attend meetings as required
- Relevant experience or background is an advantage
