Facilities Coordinator
The Executive Council of the Government of Sint Eustatius invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
The Public Entity of Sint Eustatius (OLE) carries out both municipal and provincial tasks on this special municipality of the Netherlands. As a Facilities Coordinator, you are the driving force behind our internal services. You are responsible for ensuring a safe, healthy, and well-organised working environment, managing quality, cost, and time. You oversee facilities contracts, direct the management and maintenance of our offices, and support various projects related to accommodation and facilities processes.

You ensure a safe and healthy working environment and act in accordance with all relevant laws and regulations, including the BES Occupational Safety Act, the Building Decree, and local ordinances. You manage and optimise the various facilities contracts, continuously monitoring the quality-of-service delivery, pricing, and the agreed service levels.
You monitor and register all notifications in Topdesk, follow up on faults proactively, and ensure they are resolved correctly and in a timely manner.
Additionally, you will:
· Serve as the lead for the management and maintenance of our offices and buildings, holding end-to-end responsibility for staff accommodation, maintenance, planning, and coordination of execution.
· Be responsible for executing and supervising projects such as accommodation trajectories and facilities improvement projects.
· Oversee coordination with internal and external service providers.
· Act as a point of contact and sparring partner within the domain of facilities services.
· Provide advice on bottlenecks, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
An assessment, case, and/or reference check may be part of the procedure.
The selected candidate must provide a certificate of good conduct (VOG) and undergo medical evaluation for inclusion in the pension fund.
The following order of preference will be applied during the selection process:
· Residents from or currently living on Sint Eustatius
· Residents of the Caribbean part of the Netherlands
· All other candidates
A preference will be given to candidates who are locally based.
Functievereisten
You hold a higher professional education (hbo) / Bachelor degree in facilities management, real estate, project management, or a comparable discipline. In addition, we require:
· Demonstrable project management experience, preferably as a project lead.
· The ability to manage cost, quality, and timelines, and to hold stakeholders accountable to agreements.
· Clear communication skills, a collaborative working style, and strong attention to safety, quality, and customer focus.
· A structured working approach, strong organisational skills, and the ability to switch smoothly between day-to-day queries and more tactical decisions.
· Experience in a comparable facilities coordination or facilities management role.
· Knowledge of legislation and regulations in the BES region (such as the BES Occupational Safety Act, the Building Decree, and local ordinances).
· Preferably resident on Sint Eustatius, or willing to relocate to the island for at least 3 to 5 years.
Vereiste Vaardigheden en Competenties
Strong verbal and written communication skills in both English and Dutch.
· Integrity, independence, and professionalism in conduct and decision-making.
· Familiarity with Topdesk and technical aptitude.
What we offer:
The selected candidate may receive:
· Temporary employment for a trial period of one year, with the prospect of permanent employment.
· Salary: Scale 10, gross monthly between $4,099.58 – $5,320.73 (36-hour workweek).
· Working hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week.
· Allowances: Holiday allowance of 8.33% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% of the annual salary.
· 168 holiday hours per year pro rata based of a 36-hour working week.
