Unit Manager Finance
The Executive Council of the Government of Sint Eustatius invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position:
The Public Entity of Sint Eustatius (OLE) carries out both municipal and provincial tasks on this special municipality of the Netherlands. The Unit Manager Finance is responsible for leading the finance unit within the organization. He or she ensures the efficient and effective execution of financial processes and contributes to strategic decision-making. The manager is a connecting leader who inspires, coaches, and develops employees.

As Unit Manager Finance, you’ll lead a dedicated financial team and foster a positive, results-oriented work environment. You’ll shape and implement financial strategies that align with the organization’s objectives, while ensuring accurate and timely reporting, annual accounts, and budgets. Acting as a strategic partner, you’ll collaborate closely with the management team and other departments to support sound decision-making.
You will also:
· Identify opportunities to improve financial processes and systems.
· Coach and guide team members in their professional growth.
· Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing within the team.
· Contribute actively to a culture of continuous improvement and accountability.
What you bring:
· A completed higher professional (HBO) or university (WO) degree in Finance, such as Business Economics or Accountancy.
· At least 5 years of experience in a managerial role within the finance domain.
· Strong analytical abilities and strategic insight.
· Experience with change management and team development.
· A proactive, results-oriented and hands-on attitude.
· Excellent command of both English and Dutch, spoken and written.
· The intention and commitment to fulfil this role for a minimum of 3 to 5 years.
Arbeidsvoorwaarden
An assessment, case, and/or reference check may be part of the procedure.
The selected candidate must provide a certificate of good conduct (VOG) and undergo medical evaluation for inclusion in the pension fund.
The following order of preference will be applied during the selection process:
· Residents from or currently living on Sint Eustatius
· Residents of the Caribbean part of the Netherlands
· All other candidates
A preference will be given to candidates who are locally based.

Vereiste Vaardigheden en Competenties
The selected candidate may receive:
· Temporary employment for a trial period of one year, with the prospect of permanent employment.
· Salary: Scale 12 gross monthly between $5,500.99 – $6,884.96 (36-hour workweek).
· Working hours: Full-time, 36 hours per week.
· Allowances: Holiday allowance of 8.33% and an end-of-year bonus of 8.33% of the annual salary.
· 168 holiday hours per year pro rata based of a 36-hour working week.
· Benefits: Inclusion in the pension fund.
· A supportive and professional working environment.
· A relocation scheme for candidates who respond from outside the island.
