The Synagogue: Visitors will be able to explore this historic site, gaining insight into its architectural beauty and cultural significance.
The Dutch Reformed Church: The recreation will highlight the church’s historical role in the community and showcase its architectural features.
The Lower Town: A virtual stroll through the Lower Town will offer a glimpse into daily life in historical times, highlighting the evolution of the warehouses and ships.
The 1848 Uprising: Users will engage with a vivid re-enactment of the events surrounding this critical uprising, offering a deeper understanding of its impact on the region’s history.
Fort Amsterdam: The fort, a symbol of colonial history, will be recreated to showcase its strategic importance during the slave trade.
Interactive Features and Heritage Enhancement
One of the most exciting aspects of this project is the incorporation of interactive elements. Large standing boards will be erected at each historical location, providing QR codes and information panels that visitors can scan to access the VR experience on their devices. This feature will not only enrich the on-site experience but also promote greater engagement with the island’s rich heritage.
Additionally, maps of the heritage routes will be provided, and visitors will have the opportunity to purchase VR ( Virtual Reality boxes) to enhance their experience further.
