The training aimed to further strengthen supervision and enforcement on the island across multiple areas, identify bottlenecks within different domains, and enhance collaboration between the various enforcement bodies.
The workshop was initiated by the Governor, Her Honour Ms Francis, and the Local Chief of Police, Mr Hodge. Diplomas were presented by Governor Francis, alongside Commissioner Leerdam, who holds the Personnel Affairs portfolio for the Statia Government.
“The Executive Council is committed to continuously improving and strengthening supervision and enforcement on our island. We must ensure that enforcement is carried out in a safe and responsible manner for everyone,” the Governor stated.
The workshop was delivered by attorney Valya Pantophlet and attorney Gerald Simmons-de Jong from the law office DEJONG.
