Research
The first activity under the initiative was a qualitative research study conducted in 2025 among key stakeholders. The study assessed stakeholders’ awareness of the roles and responsibilities of the Island Governor and her Cabinet, as well as their satisfaction with the services provided. The findings are being used to guide further communication activities and ensure they meet the needs of residents and stakeholders.
Information session
A key follow-up activity was an information session for event stakeholders, held at the Elma in June 2025 (end of the second quarter). The session outlined the services offered by the Cabinet and provided an overview of the Event Policy, emphasising its main objective: ensuring that all events are properly planned, with appropriate contingency measures in place to safeguard public safety. Stakeholders provided feedback on the policy, and their suggestions will be considered in future updates.
Approximately 60 stakeholders attended the session, hosted by the Island Governor and Cabinet staff, with support from the Caribbean Netherlands Fire Department, the Caribbean Netherlands Police Force, and the Public Health Department (GGD).
Throughout the year, the initiative will include regular social media updates, simplified explanations of local and federal laws, and clear information on how collaboration works between the Island Governor, the Island Council, the Executive Council, and other institutions. Consultation hours with the Island Governor will also give residents a direct opportunity to ask questions and seek guidance.
This campaign is focused on practical benefits for the community and key stakeholders, promoting clarity, transparency, and better access to information.
